Rimon Farms association - Therapeutic agriculture farms in the Negev
For People, Through the Land
Rimon Farms association
The Rimon Farm Association initiates, establishes and operates agricultural education-treatment farms in the Negev for a variety of populations. In the farms we carry out education, treatment and rehabilitation processes, through agricultural work, a healing and inspiring environment and an supportive community.
The association focuses on three main areas of activity:
Teenagers - boys and girls aged 12-18 who are not integrated into the education system or are on the verge of dropping out. The work with the youth is carried out as part of Rimon Farm, in the various authorities in the Negev, and will also take place in the branch currently established in the city of Beer Sheva.
Prevention and treatment of post-trauma - We carry out short-term processing workshops as well as long-term rehabilitation-treatment processes. Organic groups from the IDF, Police, search and rescue teams and security forces come to the farms along with civilians, for the purpose of processing the experiences of combat in order to prevent post-trauma.
In addition, we respond to individuals who have experienced trauma on a military and security background and find it difficult to return to full function. An innovative treatment center for the civilian population is currently being established. Work in the field of post-trauma takes place at Lahav Farms and Shekef Farms.
Strengthening the resilience of the communities of the Western Negev - we are establishing 2 farms that will be community centers for the people of the Western Negev, who were affected by the October 7th events.
Residents from the area will be able to take part in a range of services such as trauma treatments, community preservation, community resilience strengthening, and group workshops, body-mind activities and through agriculture. One farm will be built near Kibbutz Or HaNer and another farm will be built near Kibbutz Reim.
Each farm specializes in a certain professional field and serves a different target audience. We provide our target audience with a holistic experience that includes treatment-education processes, professional training, skills, life skills and general education enrichment as a response to challenges in dealing with different life situations, where each person has a personal and group plan formulated according to his/her needs and aspirations, while integrating his/her family/ and caregiving factors in the community.
To this end, we employ high-quality, professional, skilled, and committed personnel who are an inspiration and a personal example to all who come through its gates.

Our Values
The Educational-Therapeutic Principle
The process at the farms is based on educational-therapeutic work through agriculture, employment, and being in a healing and inspiring place. Agricultural-productive work is the main means of care and it takes place in an enabling and supportive space.
The relationships with the staff, both from the areas of agriculture and treatment, make it possible to maintain beneficial relationships, combined with a discourse that deals with growth and the circle of life.
The agricultural activity is a challenge, arouses interest, and has real-life creativity. Through it, one can practice many successful experiences - growing diverse agricultural produce, a sense of self-worth, control, and hope.
In addition, at Rimon farm, the youth sell the farm's produce and the crops they grow every Friday in a self-harvesting event, where they experience working with the public.
The Ecological Principle
Our ecological vision is based on the connection to the land and the open space in the form of agro-ecological farms that produce natural agricultural products.
The ecological-agricultural model is based on the values of Permaculture (sustainable agriculture) - without the use of pesticides and chemical fertilizers, minimum soil disturbance, restoration of biological diversity and biomass, recycling, compost preparation, and more.
One of the purposes of Rimon Farms is to encourage a real change in agricultural methods in Israel, thereby reducing groundwater and air pollution, and reducing the problems of soil and nutrient drift.
The Negev Strengthening Principle
Rimon Farms fulfills Ben-Gurion's vision of the Negev settlement and is careful to act in the spirit of the values of the Declaration of Independence of the State of Israel.
We are a Zionist initiative that preserves the character and symbols of the State of Israel and is open to every person irrespective of religion, race, and gender.
For us, preservation of the environment and education for sustainability are central pillars and cornerstones.
